Tarkus are dedicated to celebrating the compositional genius and groundbreaking work of the iconic trio Emerson Lake and Palmer. Expect to hear your favorite ELP classics and plenty of deep cuts! Tarkus are Keith Turner (keyboards), Mike Ian (guitar) and John M. Cassidy (drums).
Keith Turner grew up playing piano in the golden age of R&B, Classic Rock, and Motown during the 60s & 70s. He studied music while writing and performing originals and ELP for his class which included the late Billy Paul. Keith was ecstatic when asked to play in Tarkus. Keith Emerson was one of his influences from the very beginning.
Mike Ian is a well-respected multi-instrumentalist out of the New Jersey/Philadelphia area. Coming from a musical family, Mike started out drumming, following his older brother’s footsteps. Mike started playing guitar at age 11 and attended college for music. Mike took interest into recording and producing his own music and eventually opened Eyeball Studios.
John M. Cassidy started drumming at age 13. His influences include John Bonham, Carl Palmer, Dave Weckl and Buddy Rich among many others. After years of playing in area clubs, he moved out west to attend The Musicians Institute in Hollywood. He toured the Vegas casino circuit and the world aboard cruise ships before returning to his native Delaware and becoming the drummer for Tarkus.
