Stella Ruze is an award-winning folk rock band from Philadelphia, PA. Blending four-part vocal harmonies with infectious rhythm and horn arrangements into a new, genre-bending sound with touches of Folk, Soul, Americana, and Funk. As a 4-piece band they released two studio recordings: their 2016 LP So Here and a 2017 self-titled EP. Marking the release of the EP, Stella Ruze performed a sold out show at Milkboy in Philadelphia with co-headliner Josiah Johnson from The Head and The Heart. The band has established an enthusiastic following, receiving praise from WXPN hosts Dan Reed, Mike Vasilikos, John Vettese, and Helen Leicht. The Greater Dog was released in January 2020 with three singles, “Open,” “The Trollop & The Tippler,” and “Travel Song,” which received airplay on WXPN and Radio 104.5. Since the band's inception, they have shared the bill with nationally touring acts including Yonder Mountain String Band, Son Little, Midnight North, and Pete Francis of Dispatch.

Inspired by melody, harmony, and groove driven rhythm, Michael Sanzo and Daniel Rice penned their first release as The Dawn Drapes in 2014. Their roots in American and British folk music drive their songwriting style, while their musical influences range vastly from Alex Chilton and The Replacements to Animal Collective and Pink Floyd. Deep grooves, smart hooks, and thoughtful vocal harmonies shine through, rounding out their full and balanced sound from song to song.
