Lou Walinsky is a pianist whose primary focus has been creating and performing solo piano arrangements based on a wide variety of songs. His background includes extensive study of both classical and jazz piano - with extraordinary teachers that included Roland Hanna, Jimmy Guiffre and Hank Jones. Lou has worked in jazz, pop and Klezmer ensembles for over 40 years. He has given solo performances throughout his career, as he worked on his concepts of arranging and improvising songs, that have developed into his Piano Works concerts. He loves creating these arrangements and is excited to share them with live in-person audiences as well as through online streaming. He has produced two solo albums: Lou Walinsky Piano Arrangements: Original Interpretations Of Standards (2018) and Music From Many Places (1996). Lou has also taught piano privately, taught music in Philadelphia public schools, and performed music programs for both children and for senior citizens.
