Featuring a blend of acoustic instruments, rural soundscapes, and wistful vocals, Great Lake Swimmers are a critically acclaimed Canadian indie folk group led by songwriter/vocalist Tony Dekker. Though his supporting cast has changed over the years - with the exception of longtime right-hand man Erik Arnesen - Tony Dekker has always encircled himself with sympathetic players who value spacious arrangements that frame his vocals. Over time, the band has evolved from a sparse, delicate and hushed unit into a well-rounded folk rock band, sacrificing none of their original intimacy while upping both the volume and tempos when necessary. The group emerged in 2003 with a succession of albums that relied heavily on atmosphere, due in large part to their being recorded live to tape in old silos and rural country churches. In 2012 the band adopted a more studio-centric sound, though they retained the pastoral warmth that fueled their earlier releases. Great Lake Swimmers’ live show has won them ever-expanding audiences in the US and Europe, and their native Canada. Welcome Great Lake Swimmers to Sellersville in support of their latest release Uncertain Country. Though recorded in different locales - and with a variety of musicians - a theme of questioning runs throughout. The “uncertain country” Dekker chose as the album’s theme is not a specific place. Rather, it’s a territory we, as humans, inhabit in the 21st century - a world that, more often than not, is confusing, unfamiliar and unsettling.

Christian Lopez, a musician’s musician, plays every instrument on his new album 'The Other Side,' with an assist from drummer Carl Thompson. While his earlier albums embraced more organic sounds and instruments, underscoring his Appalachian lineage and roots-rock pedigree, 'The Other Side' smartly expands and electrifies his palette.
