Combining bluegrass with jazz, blues, rock, folk, and classical, the DePue Brothers have coined their music with the term “grassical”. Originally from Bowling Green Ohio, making music together since childhood, the DePues have been a family performing phenom for over 35 years. In 1989 by presidential decree they were dubbed Musical Family of America, in 1993 were the subject of a nationally televised PBS documentary “Music for All Occasions”, and in 2005 were featured on the commercially released documentary Music From the Inside Out. The brother band has performed in over 30 states throughout the US. Their classical experience has included leading concertmaster roles with Indianapolis Symphony, Philly Pops, Stars Wars Touring Orchestra, as well as membership with The Philadelphia Orchestra. For this performance, brothers Wallace and Zachary along with fellow “fiddling” special guest Nigel Armstrong, lead their ensemble in a concert of music from Copland to Van Halen, mixed with original and traditional bluegrass style tunes, a nod to J.S. Bach, and even a hint of the coming holidays.
