The Washington House Restaurant Coronavirus Safety Measures

Restaurant Coronavirus Safety Measures

The Washington House Restaurant is open for indoor and outdoor seating, plus made to order takeout. We are diligently following the most recent guidelines and recommendations. Here is what we have done, and will continue doing, to create a safe and healthy environment for our staff and guests:

  • We have thoroughly cleaned and disinfected all areas of our restaurant, hotel and theater before reopening.
  • We have installed plexiglass shields at the host stand, booths and Box Office.
  • We have installed hand sanitizer stations for staff and guests in easily accessible locations throughout our venues.
  • We have rearranged our dining spaces to allow for 50% occupancy and physical distancing.
  • We have revised staff check in procedures. All need to self diagnose daily and stay home from work if not feeling well in any way. Everyone will have a temperature check upon arrival and receive a COVID 19 questionnaire. Anyone with a temperature over 100.4 will be sent home.
  • All staff have participated in training sessions before reopening regarding preparing and serving food safely under current, new circumstances. This includes wearing masks, observing physical distancing whenever possible, washing hands regularly for 20 seconds, observing respiratory etiquette and refraining from touching our faces, as well as updated procedures for preparing and delivering food to our guests safely.
  • All menus are single use.
  • All condiments are either in individual ramekins or single use. Salt and pepper are delivered upon request.
  • All surfaces are sanitized between guests.
  • All high touch areas are disinfected at the beginning of each day, frequently while our facilities are open and at the end of each day.
  • We must ask our guests to wear masks when they are not eating or drinking, to observe physical distancing whenever possible and to order takeout rather than visiting us if not well.
  • We realize we may need to modify our procedures to maintain safety and health, so we will continue to evaluate and change as necessary. Please check back for updates.

Hotel Coronavirus Safety Measures

The Washington House Hotel is open. The Washington House Hotel is following all state mandates to ensure the safety of our guests and staff. Guests must wear masks during check-in and while moving about the property. Here is what we have done, and will continue doing, to create a safe and healthy environment for our staff and guests:

  • We have cleaned and disinfected every room and all common areas of the hotel before reopening.
  • We have reinvented our continental breakfast to eliminate the self-serve buffet. Guests will pre-order their breakfast and staff will prepare each tray individually for direct delivery.
  • All rooms will be thoroughly sanitized between guests, and we have increased the amount of time between guest departure and cleaning.
  • We have installed hand sanitizer stations in the hotel guest lounge and in each guest room.
  • All common areas are disinfected every 4-5 hours.
  • All high touch surfaces are disinfected frequently throughout the day.
  • We have temporarily removed our self serve candy jars and lemon water from the guest lounge.
  • All staff must self diagnose daily and stay home for work if they are not feeling well. Everyone will complete a health survey including temperature check upon arrival. Anyone with a temperature over 100.4 will be sent home.
  • We ask our guests to wear masks during check in, while walking to their rooms, and while utilizing any common spaces.
  • All staff have participated in training sessions before reopening regarding new procedures designed to safely accommodate our guests. This includes wearing masks, observing physical distancing whenever possible, washing hands regularly for 20 seconds, observing respiratory etiquette and refraining from touching our faces, as well as updated procedures for safely preparing and delivering breakfast to our guests and cleaning and sanitizing all guest rooms and common areas.
  • We realize we may need to modify our procedures to maintain safety and health, so we will continue to evaluate and change as necessary. Please check back for updates.
